Most canvases lose tension over time and this type of stretching method means the canvas can be retightened. When your painting is stretched it can be hung on the wall as is, or can be framed. There are various options from tray frames, where the painting is floating in a frame with the sides visible, or close framing, where the edge of the painting is covered, or both types of framing together.
We have a lot of fun creatively framing paintings. If the image is strong you can push it in a lot of directions, by layering frames together we can add depth, interest and texture. A tiny painting can look spectacular in a huge, gothic, dark frame with added splash on pop coloured introduced in a tiny inner frame. The frame as to be sympathetic and aesthetically enhance your artwork, but also something you really love. That is why the design process is so important. We can take as much time as is needed to explore the various options. And there are a lot of options!
